1st Day (Tuesday) MADRID – AVILA – SALAMANCA – PORTO
Departure from Madrid towards Avila, a city that preserves its medieval walls. Brief stop to discover its walled complex and the old town. We'll continue to Salamanca. Free time in this university city to visit its great architectonic and artistic legacy declares by the Unesco as World Heritage. Later we'll continue towards the Portuguese border until arriving at Porto. Accommodation at the hotel.
2nd Day (Wednesday) PORTO
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we'll do a panoramic tour of this beautiful city declared a World Heritage Site where we will discover the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, Santa Clara Church... Free time at your disposal in the afternoon. Possibility of making an optional visit to some famous wineries with tasting of their world famous "Porto wine". Accommodation at the hotel.
3rd Day (Thursday) PORTO - COIMBRA - FATIMA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Coimbra, home of one of the oldest universities in Europe and the cradle of Fado (typical portuguese music). Free time at your disposal. Continuation to Fatima, Christian Faith Center and World Pilgrimage Shrine with its impressive Basilica and Cova da Iria, where the Virgin Mary appeared. The Chapel of the Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary, with the tombs of the three shepherd children, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. At night possibility to attend the procession of candles. Accommodation at the hotel.
4th Day (Friday) FATIMA - BATALHA - NAZARE - ALCOBAÇA - LISBON
After breakfast in the hotel, departure to the Monastery of Batalha, a masterpiece of the Gothic and Manueline styles considered a World Heritage Site. Continue to Nazaré, the most picturesque and colorful fishing village in Portugal. If time allows, we will arrive to the Sitio to enjoy a panoramic view of the town and its beaches. We will continue our trip to Alcobaça. Visit to its 12th century church with the tombs of Don Pedro and Ines de Castro. Continue to Lisbon. Accommodation at the hotel. Optional night tour to attend a show of Fado, typical Portuguese folklore.
5th Day (Saturday) LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Lisbon (the ancient Olissipo), drive through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue. Afternoon at leisure for you to catch the nostalgic corners of Alfama Quarter, the old city gathered next to its Castle, with old buildings nested in narrow twisting “Ruas” full of colour housing the genuine “tabernas” where Fado sounds as a missing past. You can also do an optional excursion to Sintra and Cascais (World Heritage Sites). Accommodation at the hotel.
6th Day (Sunday) LISBON – CACERES - CORDOBA
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Caceres considered as World Heritage place because of the city's blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Walk through its Plaza Mayor and the Old Town with its famous Medieval Quarter. Afterwards, continue towards Cordoba, once the capital of the Caliphate. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
7th Day (Monday) CORDOBA - SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. We’ll do an impressive tour of its Mosque and later we'll enjoy some beautiful places that will ease our mind and spirit meanwhile strolling through the narrow winding streets of the Jewish Quarter. In the afternoon, after a short ride we’ll arrive to Seville. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
8th Day (Tuesday) SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we’ll do a monumental and panoramic city tour – the Cathedral (visit from outside), which is the second largest in the Catholic world after St. Peter's in Rome, The Santa Cruz Quarter, the natural scene of “Carmen”, and as well, the place where the myth of “Don Juan” developed. Later on we'll continue through the Maria Luisa Park and Spain Square. Afternoon at leisure for you to discover at your own pace the specific flavours of this active full of light city. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optionally at nicght you can enjoy an authentic Flamenco Show.
9th Day (Wednesday) SEVILLE – GRANADA
After breakfast we'll head east through the Caliphate Road to reach the heart of Andalusia observing an endless number of olive trees on our way to Granada, an incredible and amazing monumental environment, the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdom up to 1492. We'll visit the world famous Alhambra Palace (Red Palace) and Generalife Gardens. Its fountains, gardens and patios (courtyards) have inspired several authors with their sounds and sights, such as the “Tales of the Alhambra” by W. Irving. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optionally you can see a Gipsy Flamenco Show held in a cave-house at Sacromonte Quarter.
10th Day (Thursday) GRANADA – VALENCIA
After our breakfast at the hotel we drive eastwards heading to the Mediterranean Coast. We'll pass Murcia, capital of the fertile garden of the Segura River, and continue north via Alicante, the second largest city within the autonomous region of Valencia. Arrive to Valencia, one of the main capitals of the Mediterranean coast with its modern Arts and Sciences Architectural Complex integrated by six elements: Hemispheric, Umbracle, Science Museum, Oceanographic, Palau de les Arts and Agora. Valencia is also the home of the internationally well renowned and delicious “Paella”. Accommodation at the hotel.
11th Day (Friday) VALENCIA - BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of this bright city including a drive through the old city showing the most prominent buildings. We will continue passing the old riverbed of the Turia to the most avant-garde complex “Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias” to watch the emblematic exteriors of the six buildings. After the panoramic tour of Valencia we'll depart northward along the Mediterranean coast to Catalunya, via Tarragona, the ancient roman city of Tarraco. Arrival to Barcelona, main city of the Spanisn Mediterranean Coast, homeland of the famous architect Gaudí, symbol of the Catalonian modernism. Accommodation at the hotel.
12th Day (Saturday) BARCELONA
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of Barcelona, well known worldwide for being host of the Olympic Games back in 1992. We'll drive along the main avenues with their impressive modernist buildings (declared World Heritage buildings) designed by Gaudí such as La Pedrera, Casa Milá, etc. We'll continue then to Montjuich Park with spectacular views over the city and harbour, the Olympic Ring, monument of Cristofor Columbus and the emblematic Gothic Quarter, heart of the old city and its historical centre. Afternoon is for you to keep on discovering this city full of attractive offers as well as exquisite and varied gastronomy. Accommodation at the hotel.
13th Day (Sunday) BARCELONA - ZARAGOA - MADRID
After breakfast at the hotel departure southwest along an industrial and agricultural area with certain relevance within Europe. Our destination is Zaragoza, capital city of Aragon Region, within the banks of Ebro River, the most copious within the Iberian Peninsula. Zaragoza, known as Cesar Augusta during the Roman period had an important role in Spanish history. Free time at your disposal to see the impressive Baroque architecture of the Basilic-Temple of Our Lady Pilar. Continue to Madrid. Arrival and end of our services.
